Project Manager

Job Location: The Campus, Pun Hlaing Estate, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon.

Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, (Monday to Friday)

Position Purpose

As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our projects by overseeing their planning, execution, and delivery. You will be working with all functions across the organisation – Agile delivery teams, Technology, Finance, Risk & Compliance, external vendors, and senior management to ensure project objectives are delivered on time, within budget and at the required quality. Your exceptional project management skills, experience working on large programs, communication abilities, and positive mindset will enable you to effectively lead teams and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities 

  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with Wave leadership, delivery teams, and other stakeholders to determine project strategy, build optionality based on cost and time, define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
    • Develop detailed project plans including timelines, resource allocation and dependencies, identify dependencies and ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Resources management:
    • Determine organisational resourcing requirements across the entire project lifecycle, working with functional teams to plan and commit resources.
    • Continuously monitor and adjust resource allocation to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Portfolio Planning and Alignment:
    • Actively support the Enterprise PMO team and contribute to project selection and prioritization activities, aligned with the organization’s objectives
  • Team Coordination:
    • Facilitate effective communication and foster a collaborative environment with delivery and business teams.
    • Help coordinate and prioritize activities and provide guidance to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, understanding their needs, and managing expectations.
    • Proactively address concerns and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
    • Mitigate potential roadblocks and facilitate problem-solving to keep projects on track.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting:
    • Contribute to establish and maintain project metrics, tracking progress, and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
    • Ensure transparency and visibility into project status, risks, and accomplishments through effective reporting mechanisms.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare comprehensive project reports, including status updates, milestones achieved, and key metrics.
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring accessibility for future reference.

Job Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in large complex projects.
    • Experience in waterfall project management is essential. Prior experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and/or Agile-at-Scale frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) is highly desirable.
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects within scope, budget, and timeline. 
  • Project Management Skills:
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering software projects using waterfall and Agile methodologies. Excellent project planning, resource management, and coordination abilities.
  • Strong Communication Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Active listening skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and positive mindset:
    • A positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset. Ability to inspire and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and deadlines.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Leadership and Coaching:
    • Ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Experience working with Agile teams is highly valued.
