Site Reliability Engineer (L2)

Job Location: The Campus, Pun Hlaing Estate, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon.

Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, (Monday to Friday)

Job Summary

Site Reliability Engineer is to perform daily support and monitoring of infrastructure systems, including virtual machines (VMs), operating systems, and related services to ensure system availability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Perform daily support and monitoring of infrastructure systems, including virtual machines (VMs), operating systems, and related services to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Provide Level 2 support by troubleshooting and tracking reported issues related to infrastructure, virtualization, and system performance; escalate to vendor team when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on all matters pertaining to infrastructure and system operations.
  • Architect, develop, and implement automation and integration solutions to improve stability, scalability, and reduce manual work.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Work with the SRE Manager and Head of Technical Operations & Architecture to configure, deploy, manage, and support a large fleet of systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to Severity 1 incidents in a 24×7 support environment.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for infrastructure systems.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, system hardening, and patch management.

Experience, Functional Skills and Knowledge Areas

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Relevant certifications (RHCE, AWS SysOps, Cisco CCNA) are advantageous.
  • 3+ years experience in Linux system administration (RedHat/CentOS preferred; RHCSA/RHCE a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of scripting concepts (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and process optimization.
  • Knowledge of Web server technologies (Apache, Nginx) and their configuration principles.
  • Knowledge of Application container platforms (Tomcat, Glassfish) and deployment best practices.
  • Knowledge of Database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) including basic administration and performance considerations.
  • Familiarity with system hardening and security best practices.
  • Exposure to networking fundamentals and firewall appliances (Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto).
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
  • Awareness of monitoring tools (DataDog, Zabbix).
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and incident management.
